Wastewater Treatment Plant refers to facilities designed to treat municipal wastewater. This classification is intended for primary, secondary, and advanced treatment facilities with or without nutrient removal. Treatment processes may include biological, chemical, and physical treatment. This classification does not apply to drinking water treatment and distribution facilities.
