Pumped-storage hydroelectricity

Pumped hydroelectric energy storage is a type of potential energy storage where water is pumped from a reservoir up to another reservoir at a higher elevation. When electricity is needed, water is released from the upper reservoir through a hydroelectric turbine into the lower reservoir to generate electricity.
